- Is it free to play?
- Yes — it's 100% free. It's a friendly fantasy game for entertainment, not a betting product.
- Which Competitions can I play?
- Official Competitions are either broad Monday-to-Sunday Weekly racing, a major Festival, or a one-off Feature meeting. Festival and Feature Competitions own their whole meetings, so the same race is never scored again in the Weekly Competition.
- When does a Competition Day open?
- At 7pm UK time on the previous calendar day. That is when the day's funded race list and equal Purse are fixed, giving declared non-runners and early abandonments time to reach us while still letting you make picks the night before.
- What is my daily Purse?
- It is a pool of virtual credits used only for that Competition Day. Every funded race adds 10 credits for every player. You can spread the pool across the races you fancy; unused credits expire at the end of the day and never carry into tomorrow.
- What is the difference between Stake and Outlay?
- A Win Stake has one leg, so a 10-credit Win Stake costs 10 credits. Each-way has separate Win and Place legs, so a 5-credit Each-way Stake has a total Outlay of 10 credits. The Purse slip always shows both the displayed Stake and its total Outlay.
- How much can I put on one race?
- Maximum total Outlay is 30 credits per race: up to 30 Win, or up to 15 Each-way because Each-way has two equal legs. Stakes use whole credits.
- Do I have to pick every race?
- No. Every race is optional. You can skip races, reduce or remove an unlocked pick, and reuse the released credits on another unlocked race that day.
- Do Returns go back into my Purse?
- No. Return is your score for the Competition; it is never a spendable balance. This keeps every player on the same daily budget.
- What happens if my horse is a non-runner or the race is Void?
- The affected Outlay is restored neutrally to your available Purse while that Competition Day is still live, and the pick is removed. There is no Backup horse: choose again yourself if another eligible race or runner is still available.
- What happens if a meeting is abandoned?
- If we know before the 7pm opening, its races are not funded and nobody receives credits for them. If the meeting is abandoned after the day opens, the equal Purse already promised to every player is preserved; its races become unavailable and affected picks settle as Void.
- How can I check where my Purse credits went?
- Open the Player Purse statement below your slip. It lists every race credit, Stake commitment, reduction, non-runner or Void restoration, and expired credit in time order, with the available balance after each change.
- How do I score?
- Your Competition Score is the gross Return from your settled Race Picks at final Starting Price. Win and Each-way settle under the published UK and Irish place terms using the actual number of starters. Supporting figures such as Outlay, net result and Yield never change your rank.
- When are the Standings final?
- The live Standings are Provisional while races, settlements or Purse statements are still being reconciled. Equal gross Returns share the same rank and the following positions are skipped. Winners and achievements are awarded only when the Competition is marked Final; Void and pending picks never add to settled Outlay or Return.
- Can a Competition change after it is published?
- Its scoring Ruleset and permanent Rules Page cannot change. Moderators may repair provider data for future unopened days, but never rewrite a played day. Cancelled means play never opened, Ended Early means play began but the Competition could not finish, and No Contest removes its championship record rather than presenting it as a completed result.
- When do picks lock?
- A Race Pick and its Outlay become final at that race's published lock time. The launch rule is 15 minutes before the authoritative scheduled start; the server enforces it for everyone.
- When can other players see my picks?
- Nobody receives clues about another player's selections before that race locks. At Race Lock, the horse, Win or Each-way mode, Stake, total Outlay and Nap marker are revealed to players on the same site. Picks never cross tenant boundaries.
- What is my Nap?
- Nap is a small social marker for your strongest fancy; it never multiplies your Return or Competition Score. It follows your highest-Outlay unlocked pick by default, or you can choose a different selected race or switch it off before it locks. If that horse becomes a non-runner or the race is Void, Nap resets neutrally to the strongest remaining unlocked pick.
- Does picking in more Leagues earn me more?
- No. You make at most one pick per race and it counts once, in every League you belong to. Joining more Leagues cannot increase your Return or your Championship Points, and it never doubles your Outlay.
- Can I change a pick after I have made it?
- Freely, until the race locks. You can change horse, switch between Win and Each-way, raise or lower a Stake, or remove the pick entirely and spend those credits on another race that is still open.
- What do Pending, Void and Corrected mean?
- Pending means the official result is not yet complete or trustworthy enough to settle — we would rather show nothing than guess. Void means the race counted for nobody and your Outlay was restored. Corrected means we imported or calculated a result wrongly and published a new version; the superseded one stays readable, and every rank, honour, award and statistic derived from it moves together.
- How are Each-way place terms decided?
- By how many horses actually started, not by how many were declared. Terms are fixed from the official starters at the off.
- What happens when two players finish level?
- They share the rank outright. There is no tiebreak: shared first place is shared first place, and any award attached to it is shared too.
- How do private leagues work?
- A League is a persistent group of friends. Its owner explicitly chooses individual Competitions or recurring Competition Templates; Weekly racing is never added automatically. Membership remains owner-controlled, while the owner may separately make the League's tables and statistics publicly viewable.
- When does a League's Competition list become final?
- A scheduled Competition is frozen into the League when its first Competition Day opens. Later membership or schedule changes apply only to future Competitions, so nobody can be added to or removed from an already-started League contest retrospectively.
- Do I appear in every Standings table automatically?
- Competition participation begins when you make your first pick. Saving your first Purse slip also stands you on your site’s Open League board — the house league every entrant is part of — and enters you into each scheduled League you belong to, using the same Race Picks and score in every view. Members who do not play are omitted rather than added as zero-score rows.
- How are League standings scored?
- A League table is the Official Competition seen through your League: the same gross Return and Shared Rank rules rank only your League's participants, and tied scores share a rank with the following positions skipped. Nothing is recalculated — your Return is identical in every League and in the Official Competition Standings.
- What are League Honours?
- When a Competition finalises, the League members finishing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in the League table earn a League Honour, with dead-heats sharing the place. Honours are social placements within your League and stay separate from Official Competition achievements and your racing statistics.
- What is a League No Contest?
- The owner of a members-only private League can set a Competition aside for that League — for example after a washed-out card. Ranks and honours are suppressed in that League only; publicly visible Leagues need a Tenant Admin to approve it, and Official results and every player's canonical Returns are untouched.
- When will you notify me?
- Only when something actually needs you: a horse you picked becoming a non-runner so your credits are free to reallocate, races about to lock while you still have credits to place, a result confirmed, or a Competition cancelled, ended early, or set aside. If you have played recently we will also tell you once when a new Competition opens. Notifications follow your play — signing up alone never puts you on a list, and there is no browser push or SMS.
- Can I turn notification emails off?
- Yes. Notification settings let you switch optional email and unread prompts off for this site, and optional email is capped so it never becomes noise. Your in-app notification history always stays, and Integrity Notices — cancellations, No Contest, and corrections that materially affect you — still reach you.
- How do Championship Points and the Season work?
- Each calendar year is a Season. When a Competition finalises, your final rank earns fixed Championship Points — ties average the occupied places, Festivals count four times, and an Ended-Early Competition is prorated by how much of its card produced scored results. Your Season Standing counts your best twenty Weekly results, every Festival, and your best five Feature results; displaced finishes still show but do not score.
- How do my racing statistics work?
- Winners, places, strike rate, Outlay, Return, Yield, and Nap performance all come from your settled picks, counted once each. League membership never enters it — playing in five Leagues gives you exactly the same statistics as playing in none. Void races are neutral and never count against you.
- What awards can I win?
- Most Weekly Wins, Most Winners, Nap Champion, Nap of the Year, and Best Yield. They are social recognitions: none of them awards Championship Points, and if players tie they share the award outright. Best Yield needs real evidence behind it — at least 100 settled picks, 500 credits of Outlay, and a positive Yield.
- How are Leagues compared to each other?
- The Cross-League standing averages how a League's members finish against every entrant, so a bigger League or one that plays more Competitions gains no automatic advantage — only better finishes do. Festivals count four times, and a League needs ten qualifying Competitions before it is ranked at all. Tied Leagues share the title.
- How are Season champions decided?
- The highest Championship Points total wins the Season, and the Weekly, Festival, and Feature Series each crown their own champion from that Competition type alone. Identical totals share the rank and the title outright — there is no Return countback or any other tie-break.
